Changelog

  1. v1.0.0 · 27 Oct 2026 · latest

The first public release of CoilGate: secure, self-hosted control of a Raspberry Pi 5's inputs and outputs from a browser, from anywhere.

    What's in it

    • Controls: switch relays, watch inputs and read sensors (DS18B20, BME280, DHT22), with live updates and an activity log you can export as CSV or PDF.
    • Rules and schedules: rules that read like sentences, with hold times, undo actions and rule-to-rule chaining, plus weekly schedules.
    • Groups: Admin, Super User and User built in, plus your own. Each group decides whether two-step verification is required.
    • Pinout page: the Pi 5's 40-pin header with live pin state, adapted from Pinout.xyz.
    • Security: Argon2id passwords, TOTP two-step verification, CSRF protection, rate limiting and session management.

Install: download coilgate.zip below, then follow the README: Part 1 to try it on Windows with simulated pins, Part 2 for the Raspberry Pi 5.
